Oops... I touched it.

That's right, folks! In an effort to destroy all evidence of my flawed humanity across the interwebz, I have deleted all previous posts on my blog! Now when I say to people "I am perfect" they will be able to say without hesitation "you must be, for I fail to see any evidence on the interwebz to suggest otherwise".

I shall become a god! No one can stop me! All shall love me and despair!! MWA HA HA HA HA HAAAAA!!!

Oh, and here's the appropriate clip.

It's been something I've wanted to do for a while. I wanted to wipe the slate clean and start again, you know?

From this point onwards I'm gonna be approaching my blog a little differently based on what I've learned over the years.

Can I say I think that was extremely foolish - especially when you could have just put this blog on 'Private' and started a new one.

That was probably the only record you had of what you did, and who you were during those years.

    Good clip though

And what have you learned over the years?

You might think it was foolish, Mutt, but it always felt like that junk you keep around the house "for old times sake", but really it's just cluttering up the joint.

...and who is this Anonymous person?!

    Well, dramatic change, but ok.

You know, that analogy doesn't work for two reasons:

    1) It isn't actually taking up any space or thought
    2) I'm sure you wouldn't have said that about family photos - they're the same thing; records of who you were. Arguably better records than photos.

Maybe it's just me, but if I had done that I would be absolutely kicking myself in ten years - no, less: in 4 years.

And you have... had much richer stuff on your blog.

Are you trying to cause me to feel deep regret about this or can I move on already? :P

It feels like I've just moved house and it's really empty. It's gonna take a while to fill it up again.

Obviously you have never moved house... when you move your house has crap everywhere, boxes half opened to find remotes, crap in garbage bags you forgot to pack in boxes... it is anything but empty.

Fresh is good Luke. Good move. As long as you exported beforehand of course!...

I didn't have such a nice big button on mine. So the appeal was less. Though I can relate for sure.

Well you're in good company - artists are known for occasionally destroying all their previous work to make a clean break of it. One of my favourite artists in fact, Jasper Johns, did this and now he is the most valuable living artist in the US. link

So there you go... i imagine that if nothing else it must have been incredibly cathartic. Interestingly, in this digital age, is anything ever truly gone?

I don't really think this has anything to do with destroy all my previous 'work' as an 'artist'... all my writing work is right here on my hard drive. It's just a blog, no biggie.
